Super Fresh Food Markets operates about a dozen stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Some of the locations have in-store pharmacies and are open around the clock. Other amenities include takeout meals, floral shops, and a Just for Kids aisle. The regional grocery chain has pursued a "fresh store" strategy with a heavy emphasis on fresh foods. Parent company A&P, which added Super Fresh to its shopping cart in 1982, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2010. After selling 25 Super Fresh stores at auction to raise cash to fund its restructuring, A&P announced it will close the remaining Super Fresh locations by mid-July 2011.
