West Nippon Expressway (NEXCO-West) helps move Hondas along Hiroshima Highway, Toyotas up Tokushima Highway and Subarus around Sanyo Expressway. It manages a network of toll roads in Western Japan, including the Meishin Expressway, the Kyushu Expressway, and the Chugku Expressway. NEXCO-West handles toll collection, traffic control, and the inspection, maintenance, and repair of expressways and related facilities. To diversify, it added the Kansai International Airport Access Bridge and a hotel business to its portfolio. One of three regional companies (along with East Nippon Expressway and Central Nippon Expressway), it was established in 2005 when the Japan Highway Public Corp. was divided and privatized.
