Strategic Business Ethics (SBE) believes that when you do the right thing, you help more than your conscience. The firm offers strategic consulting services that emphasize strengthening corporate ethics as a means to improving performance and profit. Services include diagnosis, training, human resources management, and measurement. SBE has counted among its customers business enterprises, such as General Electric, and government entities, such as the US Department of Justice. The firm was founded in 1989 by CEO David Lapin, a native of South Africa. Lapin drew in part on research conducted during that country's emergence from apartheid to develop the principles behind SBE.
