Naresuan University aims to provide a college education worthy of a king. Established in 1990 on the 400th anniversary of King Naresuan the Great's ascension to the throne, the university offers about 60 undergraduate and nearly as many graduate programs at two main campuses and a dozen smaller academic service centers located primarily in Northern Thailand. Degree programs are offered in agricultural science, natural resources, architecture, education, and engineering, among many others. The university also researches topics such as solar energy, health sciences, the environment, and technology. About 25,000 students attend Naresuan University.
