Motia puts Wi-Fi signals in motion. The company designs semiconductors that allow "smart antennas" in wireless networks to function more effectively through "adaptive beamforming" technology. Motia's chips are also used in direct satellite broadcast equipment for live satellite TV service while a vehicle or boat is in motion. Through its Broadreach brand of wireless systems and semiconductors, Motia has focused on serving the 3G cellular, WiFi, and WiMAX markets. Its Goldeneye brand of antenna products target the growing direct broadcast satellite market. The fabless semiconductor company was established in 2000.
