Ventrus Biosciences is developing drugs to make it easier for folks to sit, and then stay. The pharmaceutical company's product pipeline consists of three topical treatment candidates: an iferanserin ointment for hemorrhoids; a diltiazem cream for pain associated with anal fissures; and a phenylephrine gel for fecal incontinence. Ventrus is optimistic about its development efforts as there are no currently FDA-approved prescription products for the conditions it seeks to treat. Ventrus Biosciences filed to go public in mid-2010, but withdrew the IPO filing later that year.
