The bucks start here! ... for Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation recipients, anyway. Established by the US Congress in 1975 as a federal memorial to the country's 33rd president, the Foundation awards about 65 $30,000 scholarships annually to college juniors for their graduate studies. Scholars also receive priority admission and supplemental financial aid, leadership training, graduate school and career counseling, and internship opportunities in the federal government. Recipients must be US citizens, have outstanding leadership potential and communication skills, have strong public service records, and be in the top quarter of their class, and be committed to careers in government or public service.
