Gone are the days when doctors could hand out pharmaceutical samples like candy -- enter National Patients Services. Despite its name, National Patient Services serves pharmaceutical manufacturers by providing marketing and fulfillment services to help clients distribute and publicize new pharmaceuticals. The company's alternative sampling programs allow doctors to prescribe a new drug product (along with a voucher provided by the company) and the patient recieves their free sample through the pharmacy by presenting the voucher along with the prescription. The program improves product tracking and prevents the abuse of sampling programs.
