Reinforcement is the fabric of Propex Operating Company's portfolio. The company produces polypropylene fabrics and fibers for the consumer products, industrial manufacturing, and construction markets. Its offerings include carpet backings and other flooring materials, internal-construction fabrics for furnishings (sofas and beds) and automobile interiors, geotextiles (used by engineering and construction firms for soil erosion control and reinforcement), as well as fibers used to reinforce concrete. Some of its brands include Pyramat, Fibermesh, Duon,and CURV. Propex is the US operating arm of Propex Holdings, which is owned by private equity firm Wayzata Investment Partners.
