How do I apply?

The application for the Anita Borg Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year is now closed. Please check back in the Fall for the application for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Do I need to send Google an official copy of my transcripts?

No, please do not send any documents to Google. Please use the online application to send us your transcripts. All documents must be submitted online as part of your application. Please follow the instructions in the online application to upload your documents.

Do I need to submit the recommendation letters with my online application?

The Google Scholarships team accepts reference letters through our online reference form, only. Please follow all instructions on the scholarship application to ask for reference letters. Please advise your reference writers that reference letters are due on January 6, 2014.

I am graduating soon, and I will be entering a new program/school in 2014-2015. Do I need to provide any additional documentation?

Yes. Scholars will be asked to provide a verification letter from the university to show that you will be enrolled in the new program/school in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Can international students apply for the scholarship?

Yes. If you are currently studying in the United States and meet our criteria for scholarship eligibility, you can apply.

Google also offers the Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship for women studying in Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, India, and the Middle East.

I do not have a Computer Science or Computer Engineering major. Can I apply?

The Anita Borg Scholarship is dedicated to supporting students who are studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field majors.

Can men apply?

No, this scholarship is dedicated to supporting women in technology. For more information on our other scholarship programs, please visit http://www.google.com/students/scholarships.

How will I know if my application has been received?

Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email of your submission. Once you submit your application, changes cannot be made, so please double-check that all information is accurate!

How do I apply for an internship?

Please note that the Google Anita Borg Scholarship does not include an internship with Google.

If you are interested in opportunities at Google, please check the box on the online application indicating that you are interested in opportunities at Google, and a Google representative will contact you if you are selected to move forward in the internship application process.

If I am selected, how will the funds be distributed to me?

Google will distribute the scholarship funds directly to you to use towards tuition and education-related expenses.

Can I submit my application in a language other than English?

All Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship review processes are administered in English. Please submit all application documents in English, we will not be able to consider applications in other languages at this time.
